Try this:
$ mvn clean install -Phbase-0 (for HBase 0.x versions)
or
$ mvn clean install -Phbase-1 (for HBase 1.x versions)Adam raised the question
lat week and we updated the documentation here:
http://omid.incubator.apache.org/quickstart.html
Thanks,

Apparently, it worked for others, so does anyone know what could have gone
wrong for me? I simply untared and ran mvn install.
Also, this is not a blocker, but the quick start points to documentation that
is outside the scope of the Apache project:
# Quickstart
Check the Omid [basic
concepts](https://github.com/yahoo/omid/wiki/Getting-Started) or go directly
to the [installation
instructions](https://github.com/yahoo/omid/wiki/Installation).
It is better to move it to the Apache project and adapt the description
accordingly.
