Hi Chris, many thanks for jumping in our help, really much more than appreciated!
As Christian stated, there are simply not that many people who might be eligible to join us and the reason behind that is, in my humble opinion, that Google Guice is not so popular like other IoCs (such as the Spring Framework) so the only place where we started attracting people is the Guice ML: some guys positively replied - just to make an example, Stephan Classen decided to donate his `persistence` extensions just after found us on that ML, but from some other we didn't get any reply... I was also in touch with Google guys in order to offer a place where continuing developing their extensions that they are not maintaining anymore, in order to let them keep focused on the core, but the discussion landed nowhere :/ So, I would really, really appreciate any kind of help from you in order to finally give to Onami the visibility its deserves. Many thanks in advance, all the best! -Simo http://people.apache.org/~simonetripodi/ http://twitter.com/simonetripodi On Wed, May 21, 2014 at 9:55 AM, Christian Grobmeier <grobme...@gmail.com> wrote: > Hi Chris, > > thanks for your concerns and your offer to help. > > Speaking for me alone and not for the PMC as a whole, > > We are monitoring this lists and we know "how to do it". > The problem is, that we do not have that much activity > in general and there are simply not that many people > who might be eligible to join us. > > We surely would appreciate anybody who shows an interest to join us. > > We have a few pages with how one can contribute: > http://onami.apache.org/community/volunteering.html > (see also other pages in that section). > > In my personal opinion, the project as a whole would need > to work towards more "Guice community visibility" to > attract new people to our extensions project. > > If you have any more questions or suggestions how to improve > things in the Onami realm, you are welcome to share it with us. > However I don't think the Board needs to be concerned at this > point of time.
