Hi Guys,

I'd like to draw your attention to OODT-215 [1]. In case you haven't noticed
the spam from JIRA, I input a ton of issues related to this (and a couple other
workflow related bugs/etc.) from JPL's internal issue tracking system that
existed before the Apache move. I will also be flushing our other 95+ issues
that we had open internally over here to Apache in the next day or so so that
others can pick up a shovel and help out. That will wrap up our internal JIRA
issues and everything will be entirely over here at Apache then.

The Workflow2 architecture stuff is something that Brian Foster, Paul Ramirez,
David Woollard and I have been leading for a while. Paul and I originally were
talking about it at JPL, and then Dave and Brian worked on it while they were
both JPL employees (before Goog and Project WBS nabbed them up ^_^). Anyways,
they'll recognize a bunch of the issues I'm sure.

To not disrupt too much of the work going on in trunk, while Brian was at JPL,
I had him work on a branch to evaluate the Workflow2 efforts he was doing for
his NPP PEATE project. He's made a ton of progress and the system is actually
now being used operationally.

The existing branch though needs some massaging to fit into the trunk workflow
architecture. This has been on m plate at JPL for a while, but I'm going to
make a concerted effort for 0.4 to forward port the branch improvements to the
trunk. OODT-215 [1] represents my understanding of what is required to do that.

Just wanted to give you all a heads up. BTW, since i'm planning on working on
0.4 a ton, I'll volunteer to RM it.

Cheers,
Chris
