Valerie,

- Create a Jira issue [1]
- Assign it to yourself
- Post a patch on reviewboard [2]
- Commit on consensus

You could just post the patch on the issue itself too.

Thanks,
Paul

Hi Chris,

I have created a new class that performs a function I needed for my pipeline
and I would like to contribute it to OODT. I created an
ExternPreconditionComparator class. I needed one and it seemed like a logical
thing to do since you already have lots of 'Extern'-type classes in the system.
How do I go about contributing this class to OODT? Should I create a feature
request in JIRA and assign it to myself? What's the process I should follow?

Here are the details of what I'd like to, please advise.

Add a new file (ExternPreconditionComparator.java) to this folder:
oodt/trunk /metadata/src/main/java/org/apache/oodt/cas/metadata/preconditions/

Add a new file (example external script) to this folder:
oodt/trunk /crawler/src/main/resources/extern-scripts/

Modify the following two files to add example usage for this new comparator
class:
oodt/trunk /crawler/src/main/resources/precondition-beans.xml
oodt/trunk/mvn/archetypes/radix/src/main/resources/archetype-resources/crawler/src/main/resources/policy/
 precondition-beans.xml

If there is anything else that needs to be done to properly incorporate this
new class, please let me know.

Thanks!
Val
