As others have already mentioned the

  3. What should a PM tool do

is the most interesting part (for us).

See more later in my reply.

As I see it there are to types of project management tools:

  1. Generic applications used for project management like
     - Wordprocessors
     - Spreadsheets
     - Email clients
     - Browsers
     - Calendars
     - Databases
     - Journaling systems
     - ...

   2. Project Management specific tools
     - Project planning software
     - Project controlling software
     - Project information software
     - ...

If you find tools which is not on my list

then please notice me ;v)

The alternative does not seem to be a part of the rest of the outline.
Either you should only look at open source PM tools or you should look at
all PM tools in the thesis.

I would also put the "What should a PM tool do" before analyzing the
project tools so you know what to look at in each tool. It is very
problematic to analyze the Strenghts / wearknesses when you don't know
which should be considered what.

I would look forward to read your thesis - even in German though I haven't
read German for years.

The most enjoyable greetings
