I also suppose that if we want to integrate to the OOo look & feel, we will need to use gsl and vcl. I might try to have a look at those libraries, but I am quite busy at the moment, so I don't promise anything. In fact, I think that some boost code is already used in OOo. And if you get a look at the licence of boost, you will see it is quite permissive.
