I would like to be informed about the status of the project of OpenOfficeProjectManager, is there any maililng list I can join to be informed? Please let me know, I´m very interested in this project.
Hi Juan, please join the dev@oopm.openoffice.org mailing list; the details can be found at http://oopm.openoffice.org
As for status, at this point we're collecting ideas and trying to formulate them into requirements. We're also going to start some proof-of-concept efforts but these likely won't be that useful in and of themselves.
I think OOPM should not be a Microsoft Project clone, but NEVER forget that almost 95% of PC users are used to work within Microsoft´s layout and softwares. Maybe you can improve the layout and some functions...
I definitely don't want to be a clone of Project; I personally don't find it to be the best of breed tools.
I'd like to see oopm be more of a workbench where a PM can 'tinker' with the project before embarking on a venture. I find this kind of experimentation facility lacking in Project.
I'd also like to see a tight integration with the other parts of OOo; embedding (and cross-linking to) documents in project plans and vice-versa for a start.
Thank you!
No, thank you! Input and involvement from the community is going to make this thing sing!
