Hi Carsten,
Thanks for making us aware of this tool. I looked and there doesn't seem to
be a Windows port, so I won't be able to evaluate it. But January 14th is
the cutoff date for our wish list. At that point I'll be taking the wish
list and categorizing it into some high level requirements. At that point
someone could evaluate TaskJuggler against our requirements and see what the
delta is like.
Regards,
Shawn

Subject: [oopm-dev] Existing Tools: TaskJuggler
Hi,
I am actively pursuing what is going on with the OOorg. Project
Management Project and I think that for a start,
you should actually have a look at TaskJuggler. In my eyes, Task Juggler
is actually a very potent software solution
for project management, however, it tries to combine both the server
part and the client part into one application.
Perhaps figuring out how projects could be defined in some formal
language would do the trick (xml for example)
and then starting up the project on the server, whilst the clients do
only native (xml based) server access for data
transmission (transactions, that is) and are generally responsible for
rendering the view presentations and client i/o.
See taskjuggler.org for an experience.
Regards
Carsten
