Roman Shaposhnik commented on OOZIE-1117:
-----------------------------------------
Actually, if our experience in Bigtop is any indication it may be way more
convenient to *also* provide a utility that would let users sync up local jars
with HDFS. In a lot of cases, the local installation of Hadoop, Pig, Hive, etc
have no corresponding upstream artifacts.
> binary distro should include hadooplibs TAR

> Project: Oozie
> Issue Type: Bug
> Components: build
> Affects Versions: 3.3.0
> Reporter: Alejandro Abdelnur
>
> At one point, the distro tarball included -next to the sharelib, client and
> example tarballs- the hadooplib with all the jars needed for the hadoop
> versions the build work with.
> We removed that because it was increasing the size of the distro tarball
> significantly.
> However, as we only release a source artifact and users must build it
> locally, this is not an issue. And it would more convenient for the users to
> just expand the hadooplibs tarball and copy the corresponding hadoop JARs to
> the libext/ to run setup.
