The new patch addresses the first two of Alejandro's last comments.
For the third:

want to proceed with incomplete logs, instead throwing an exception?{quote}
This is already the case; throwing an IOException in any of these methods gets
caught elsewhere and the remaining servers are still processed, plus a message
about possible missing logs is included.
