A Google search for "oozie.service.ELService.ext.functions.workflow" brings up
a few mailing list messages and a great Cloudera blog post, but doesn't look
like there is anything in the official documentation. Some of these resources
are tough to find if you don't know what to search for. A mention in the
official docs would be very helpful.
Specifically, some discussion of how to be as well integrated as Falcon's
extension functions here would be great:
