There is an open issue for the jaxb2 Maven Plugin to make it work with Java 9
and above: [https://github.com/mojohaus/jaxb2-maven-plugin/issues/43]
The issue was opened in 2016 and it is not resolved yet, so I think that for
now we should use the workaround.
