GitHub user PsiACE edited a discussion: Call for OSPP 2025 Projects

Hi, All.

**UPDATE: We still have two project quotas for this year.**

This is the third time we have been approved as an organization to participate
in OSPP, and I am glad that I continue to be the liaison. We are looking for
project ideas that can benefit the Apache OpenDALâ„¢ and the open source
ecosystem.

If you have a project idea that you would like to propose, please comment below
this post with the following information:

- **Project Name:** A brief and catchy title for your project.
- **Project Description:** A detailed explanation of what your project aims to
achieve, why it is important or useful, and how it relates to OpenDAL or open
source in general.
- **Difficulty:** A rough estimate of how challenging your project is, based on
the skills and experience required. You can use one of these levels: Basic,
Advanced.
- **Project Output Requirements:** A list of deliverables or outcomes that you
expect from the project, such as code, documentation, tests, demos, etc.
- **Project Technical Requirements:** A list of technologies, tools,
frameworks, languages, or platforms that you plan to use or learn for the
project.

Please note that submitting a project idea does not guarantee that you will be
accepted as a candidate for the OSPP program. At this stage, we are only
collecting and discussing potential projects. This is not a formal application
process. The final selection of candidates and mentors will be based on the
quality of the project proposals, the availability of mentors, and the
compatibility of skills and interests. We will inform you of the next steps and
the application process once we have finalized the list of projects. Thank you
for your interest and participation!

We encourage you to be creative and innovative with your project ideas, but
also realistic and feasible. We also welcome collaboration and feedback from
other community members, so feel free to comment on each other’s proposals and
offer suggestions or support.

The deadline for discussing project ideas is April 28th, 2025. Because we need
to finish the submission on the May 4th. We look forward to hearing from you
and working with you on some amazing open source projects!
