Interesting. we can pull some information out of it to put in the "OpenEJB History" section. So, I was thinking that we could still use names for releases in OpenEJB (If we are already, then I am not aware of it). For example, we are going to release 3.0, so we should give it a name too. Its just like "tiger" in java, we can refer to it by name or by version.
