Ravi P Palacherla updated OPENJPA-453:
--------------------------------------

    Comment: was deleted

(was:
JDOHelper.getPersistenceManager() api tells that Transactional and persistent
instances return the associated PersistenceManager.

The JPA sec says that
2.1.5 Embeddable Classes
An entity may use other fine-grained classes to represent entity state.
Instances of these classes, unlike entity instances themselves, do not have
persistent identity.

So, I doubt if you can make an embeddable class either transactional or
persistent.

Based on the above I guess you will get null on calling
JDOHelper.getPersistenceManager() on any embeddable object.

Ravi.

> I am noticing the following behaviour: If evict() is called on an embedded
> object the statemanager is nullified which is in contrast to non-embedded
> objects. Subsequently, calling JDOHelper.getPersistenceManager() on the
> evicted embedded object returns null. Is this the correct behaviour?
