Actually it does, this is what camel did for years (didnt check recently). EE 
backward compatibility rule ensures that. Using 2 does not guarantee 1 will 
work but using 1 ensures 2 will work.

If you have some new features you need we can check how we manage it but if I 
got it right you dont plan to modify the impl so no need to take the risk to 
break it unintentionally.
