https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/OPENJPA-3031 https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/OPENJPA-3030 Two Derby failures from the Jakarta Persistence 3.2 TCK (OPENJPA-3028), one commit each. - **OPENJPA-3031:** Derby rejects `CAST(? AS VARCHAR)` without a length. `DerbyDictionary` now appends `(varcharCastLength)` in `appendLength()` and returns `VARCHAR(varcharCastLength)` from `getStringCastTypeName()`, so comparisons of two string parameters and `CAST(x AS STRING)` work. - **OPENJPA-3030:** Derby has no `LEFT`/`RIGHT`. They are rendered with `SUBSTR` in a `CASE`, so a length longer than the string returns the whole string. A literal or parameter string is cast, since Derby rejects `LENGTH(?)`. The Derby skips for LEFT/RIGHT in `TestEJBQLFunction` and `TestTypesafeCriteria` are removed; new tests cover parameters, literals and long lengths, plus `TestStringParameterComparison`. Full suite passes on Derby and H2. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service. To respond to the message, please log on to GitHub and use the URL above to go to the specific comment.
