I'd rather not have a half-hearted effort in this case. If you are interested in helping to mentor someone for summer of code, Please add your name to the mentors list. In general, you will need to be reasonably familiar with the OpenLayers code base, and you need to be prepared to spend 3-4 hours a week on mentoring for the duration of the project. Of course, if you have other project ideas, or want to expand on the projects listed, please do so.
