I've been looking forward to this feature. We need Visits to group together
the multiple encounters and labs a patient might have for one hospital
visit.

Some of the ways it will be important:
* for providers - so they can quickly see what's going on during a visit,
and find the labs associated with it
* for registration staff - it'll make it easier to see which patient charts
should have come back for data entry
* for Ministry of Health reporting - how many patient visits occurred
within a month, which can be tricky to do with encounters; how long they
lasted; etc. etc.

The data model will support all these uses.

I'm delighted by the visit attributes and types. Is it Christmas? That
will be a handy way to flag things. I'm thinking of cases like a visit
included surgery or admission, or that a visit shouldn't be counted, like
for blood donation.

You haven't mentioned the Visit Service API yet. I expect to make a lot of
queries for "show me all the visits in progress (started and not stopped)" -
e.g. for the registration staff to see whose charts are out; show me all
the encounters of type X in a visit that's in progress - e.g. show me
everyone in the ICU today; and "show me the most recent visit and
associated encounter list for Patient X" - e.g. I'm looking at Patient X's
dashboard to treat them.

Thanks for the update. I look forward to helping test.

Regards-

Janet Riley
