Dear OpenMRS Developers

I would like to ask if patient deletion has been modified to override
patient deletion when a patient has encounters. Functionality of OpenMRS has
been customized to an Athlete/Sports Management system, and new developments
altered patients to participants in our current project.

However, functionality to delete patients fails when a participant has
encounters, and as far as I know the OpenMRS data model, encounters are
tightly bound to concepts and person objects in that order.

Thus, am asking if patients can be deleted when they have encounters
associated with them, associated through observations and or html forms
encounters. If manual deletion of a patient, or any tightly bound data in a
table row (in object dependency relationship), how I know is to disable
foreign_key_checks to de-associate any encounters/data, then deleting, and
re-enabling foreign_key_checks.
