Hi Ali PIH and Jembi have been working on this simple dispensing module for OpenMRS that could create a dispensing encounter for any open prescription. The module currently presents a summary of open prescriptions, and can calculate the number of pills required to fill each prescription. A user can also scan a barcode mapped to a drug or concept to quickly dispense it. When the dispensing transaction has been saved, an HL7 message is generated that could be exported to a separate pharmacy system. The majority of this development effort has been carried out by a Jembi supervised team in Zimbabwe and they are working through a few bugs but this should be fixed quite soon. Will update the wiki and code repository as soon as it is ready.
