This is not currently possible in OpenMRS. I thought there was a ticket about this, but I couldn't find it. Jembi had built a custom version of the HTML Form Entry module with this feature (this was a couple years ago), and we intended to reimplement that feature directly in OpenMRS core so it would apply to all forms. Someone was working on it a long time ago (maybe Pascal) but I don't remember it getting finished.
