I have committed this fix against trunk of the simplelabentry module - if you can check that out directly from svn and build it, it should fix your problem.

Unfortunately, I do not have permissions in JIRA to do anything with the ticket I created this against.

@Michael (or whomever owns this project) - can I please have rights against this project in JIRA?
