Which wiki page are you following? How are you installing it? On ubuntu I prefer to just use a tar build of tomcat. Download it from their site and unpack it into /opt. Now all files are in /opt/tomcat6, so run /opt/tomcat6/bin/startup.sh (I think thats right).
(You'll have to unpack it as root into /opt, but afterwards change ownership back to you with sudo chown -R erick /opt/tomcat6) Ben On Wed, Nov 16, 2011 at 2:43 AM, Erick Mugoma <[email protected]>wrote: > Hi Ben > It looks like the problem is the directory where tomcat is installed. > > I've tried changing the CATALINA_BASE=/opt/$NAME > But another error pops up and the file policy.d cannot be found in the > conf directory. > I've checked the conf directory and this file is not there. > > Erick > > > On Wed, Nov 16, 2011 at 10:03 AM, Ben Wolfe <[email protected]> wrote: > >> >> Does google give any response as to why?
