Ashley, Welcome to OpenMRS! There are several people working on various parts of the OpenMRS UI (both current and future versions). One name you need to know is Darius Jazayeri (in Seattle) -- he is pioneering the OpenMRS 2.0 UI overhaul. You can get an idea of tickets and information related to the OpenMRS 2.0 UI by looking here: https://wiki.openmrs.org/display/docs/OpenMRS+2.x+Developer+Documentation
