Thanks for doing this Mike, this design is really moving the right direction. I commented on the wiki page, but they're mostly small quibbles and implementation details.
I definitely would like to discuss this on the design call tomorrow. I propose that, unless there are big areas of disagreement, we practice some behavior-driven development, and we explicitly write out some Acceptance Criteria in the form of pseudo-code snippets that we'd like to be able to run. Ideally someone will be inspired to do a first pass of this over the holidays. :-) We may only have half the design call, since we may (assuming Rafal is available) be discussing needs for the Metadata Sharing module also.
