Hi Harsha,

Although the GSoC 2012 was just announced, organization applications are
still some time away. That has to happen and then OpenMRS will be accepted
as an organization. After OpenMRS is accepted as an organization, we will
list out a certain number of projects that will have mentors and will be
chalked in more detail and scoped appropriately for GSoC. This is generally
the page that we try to maintain:
https://wiki.openmrs.org/display/projects/Unassigned+Projects that lists
out the projects that someone will be able to take. IMO, some of these I
see are not scoped well for GSoC, so new ones might be added by the time
OpenMRS gets accepted as an organization in GSoC.

In the meantime, I suggest that you solve some intro tickets from here:
https://tickets.openmrs.org/secure/IssueNavigator.jspa?mode=hide&requestId=10068
And spend time at the IRC knowing what is important to the community and
what are the most important problems that need to be solved.
That way you can also suggest projects on the mailing list and we can have
a discussion around those and scope them well...

Regards,
Saptarshi PURKAYASTHA
