I had some similar experience with windows.Here's what I did,
1.)Delete the openMRS directory.
2.) Rerun the openmrs_stanalone.jar in expert installation mode.
And choose to add demo data.
Remember when you are giving the username and password to connect to
Mysql.Use what you have configured in Mysql(might not be openmrs,test)
