OpenOffice silently substitutes a 'best-fit' font if a desired font is not available. It would be helpful if the use of a substitute font was drawn to the User's attention: this might make a Summer of Code project.
John_Ha (en_Forum) says: "I use the TestFonts add-on to check which fonts are in use - some of the code might be re-useable. TestFonts only checks when you run it. It would be more useful if the notification that a "called for font" was missing was continuous - perhaps colouring the font name in the font box?
