Hello Marina Anyone can write to this list to collaborate with the project. But if you intend to communicate regularly (and receive answers) it is better to subscribe to the list. All testers are welcome. I'm not sure if there is already a cookbook to allow you to compile your own binaries for Mac but as Dev versions become available they will be posted and announced publicly.
