OpenOffice::OODoc is a Perl extension that allows full read/write access
to OOo files from scripts. It's an object-oriented, XPath-based API, than can run on any platform supporting Perl 5.8.x. (and not necessarily equipped with OpenOffice.org). It provides a lot of retrieve/get/set methods against any content or layout element, and allows the applications to "query" any OOo document as it was a lightweight database.
Nice work! From what I can see from the README this will only work with the older file format. Are there plans to suuport the OASIS Open Document formats in a future release??
Probably yes, following the future expansion of the OASIS format.
For the time being, the target is the "old" OOo installed base.
PS: The OpenOffice::OODoc::Intro is more detailed and accurate than the README.
