[dev] Where'd double-click on quickstart go...?

I remember from 1.x that you could double-click on the quickstart tray 
icon (on windows anyway) and bring up a new document/templates window. 
What happened to this functionality?  I would very much like to be able 
to do this, as having to make shortcuts and use those is rather 
annoying, and defeats 1/2 the purpose of having the quickstart tray icon...
