If I was sure that I wouldn't have to reconfigure my build environment for old builds, I wouldn't look for binaries,
and I'll check out source if there aren't any binaries.
But since I've already had to deal with build environment problems,

I'd prefer getting old binaries to checking out old source, and possibly having to deal with more such problems.
