Superb idea, Bob! Thanks for your suggestion. The architecture of OOo makes that difficult, as there is much shared code between components, but your notion is shared by many. I would like to see this be a high priority direction for the project. If OOo/SO won't prioritize this, then a fork would be necessary and healthy to get this done. The alternative would be a rebuild of very simple separate modules from ground up starting with minimal functionality all around the OpenDocument file format.
