*sigh* We realized some heavy conceptual problems after the Developer's Guide was in print, so we couldn't adjust it anymore ... query the data source for XDocumentDataSource, and call its getDatabaseDocument method. The object returned there is the one implementing the XStorable. Basically, the data source as described in the DevGuide was split up into a model and a data source, where the former implements all the document-related things.
