Hi, Thank you for replying to my email. Just to confirm this was the procedure I used to turn off java. Tools --> Options --> OpenOffice.org --> Java unchecked use a Java runtime environment I then closed all sessions of Open Office and started a new session of Calc. I tried loading my test file with this option enabled and then disabled and in both cases the problem still occured. I will spend some more time this week to see if I can track down this problem.
