Not certain I understand. Are you saying that the bitmap is fixed and cannot be changed or that the bitmap is such a pain to change that doing so is not worth it? I ask because I see on invoking OOo that the splashscreen dynamically shows loading progress and, also, that there is a new splashscreen for the developer snapshots.
