Hello.
This is my old message posted 16 Feb 2006 to [users] and still staying
without advices:
I'm FreeBSD 4.11-RELEASE user and I have installed OpenOffice-2.0
(portversion 2.0.1) without mozilla and without java.
The problem in that soffice cannot be started, in an pop-up window is
informed: " The application cannot be started. An internal error
occured."
I have removed openoffice-2.0 and installed OpenOffice.org 1.1.5
WITHOUT_MOZILLA. Now I have another question - oo-1.1.5 cannot be started
and pop-up window says: "The application cannot be started. The
configuration service is not available. Start the setup application to
repair the installation from CD or the folder containing the installation
packages."
The error message gives you the hint that both installations have
serious problems. OpenOffice.org 1.1.5 provides additional information:
configuration service is not available. It's the first UNO service which
is created by OpenOffice on startup. For me it looks like that UNO is
not correctly working, but I don't know why this happens. I hope that
someone who is much more familiar with the FreeBSD port can help you.
Regards,
Carsten
