on i386 and sparc -Os is default... Unfortunately it breaks when compiled with newer gccs (see http://lists.ximian.com/pipermail/openoffice/2006-September/001994.html and http://cvs.gnome.org/viewcvs/ooo-build/patches/src680/svtools-fsstor-temporary-O0.diff?rev=1.1&view=log).
