This table is very useful. It lists the drivers, the URLs to specify for getting a Connection and which operating systems the respective driver is available for. I've filed Issue 74536 for the omission of HSQLDB in this table.
And now that this interface crawled up in my mind ... Alternatively (and probably more future-prove), use regcomp -revoke -r services.rdb -c hsqldb2.dll on the command line, while OOo is not running. This should completely get rid of this component.
