If you want to start developing for OpenOffice.org you first need a
working build environment. Downloading is the first step. For help about
the further steps the OpenOffice.org Wiki is a good starting point:

You can find the source of the current filter for the binary Word format
in
src..../sw/source/filter/ww8
There is also a new filter for Word formats in the works where help
would be most appreciated:
