Hi all, Yes, this 'pain-in-the-ass' problem. Currently for most people there is no visible indication in emails that they are from people who are not subscribed to this mailing list, so most people responding to those emails generally only reply to this mailing list. This of course means that unsubscribed users do not see the replies - unless they have figured out that there is a web interface or gmane.org.
Of course some could reply that if these moderated users are so stupid that they do not subscribe to this mailing list they should be ignored. However we all started off in a position of ignorance. The interesting thing about many of these moderated emails that never got a direct response, is that they are potential developers, who would at least like to make some contributors to OpenOffice.org. What I would like to suggest is : 1) people should be aware on ALL MAILING LISTS that there are moderated emails, and at least have a policy on whether those emails should be answered or not, and/or whether 2) everyone should know how to flag the fact that an email is moderated (this is quite easy to do as there is an email header "Delivered-to:" which if it contains "moderator", is obviously a moderated email. Most modern email tools can be setup to do some filtering and add an indication to show that an email has been moderated. 3) that ultimately the moderator should make sure that all emails get responded to with the OP being CC:ed. The list of moderated emails since Feburary (which I noticed) that never got a reply is: [dev] Working on PyUno [dev] Regarding Contributing [dev] Help required to start work [dev] formulas OO [dev] Preventing from document closing [dev] Error on dmake: Could not detect compiler version [dev] Configure issues [dev] openoffice plugin development.
