The plan is to have an _easy_ way of running the tests. Whether a button in the EIS application will be the best way I cannot say, but it seems to be a good example.

So far the performance tests can't be run for CWSs that were not created
on Sun Hamburg servers. Adding another button to EIS wouldn't change
much, I guess..

True. Do you have an idea how to solve the problem? One question on the Wiki page is whether the Tinderboxes could be used to run the tests. Does anyone know whether this is really an option?

I could also imagine that, as Mathias already mentioned, a "dmake run" is the means to run the tests, which would place the task in the hands of the CWS developer. Then of course we would have to pay attention to not creating new barriers to code contributions by requiring developers to run an unwieldly, long-running set of test-cases. Ease of use and quick execution of the test would be ranked first. So what execution time for the test-cases might be acceptable? Is it the 1 hour that Martin mentioned? Is it perhaps even less?

Regards,

Jörg
