I'd be happy if anybody could have a look at this problem: It seems that
regarding the default printer setting, the "Load user defined settings"
options is stuck to be always turned on: I have said option switched off,
yet the default printer is always loaded from the document. The default
printer is respected just fine for new documents, so it doesn't seem to be
a cups problem.
This is Oo.org from 2.0.4 to 2.2.1 on Debian sarge and etch. IIRC 2.0.3
didn't show this problem.
