Hi, Long ago, I suggested in this list to collect documentation about C++ helper classes in our various helper modules (comphelper/unotools, at least), since I had (and still have) the uncertain feeling that a lot of the helper code is not widely known, resulting in duplication of code across the higher level modules.
Since I had some time to spend for this kind of issues (<insider>about 2 hours a week</insider>), I Just Did It (TM). Well, I *started*, at least. If you're interested in, look at http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Development/Cpp/Helper. I hope that over time, we will be able to develop this to the central entry point for (C++-related) questions like I want to implement pattern X - what do we have to offer to do this, without /me doing it from scratch? . I plan to add more over time, and I hope others will join in with classes they know best. Any feedback, good or bad, is welcome.
