Can anyone please advise which component: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/enter_bug.cgi would be most appropriate for filing the following 2.4rc issue?
==== OOo_2.4.0rc1_20080211_LinuxIntel_install_en-US_deb.tar.gz from: http://mirrors.isc.org/pub/openoffice/contrib/rc/2.4.0rc1/ and installed as usual: sudo dpkg -i *.deb etc. This version is seriously broken; once opened, any command - even a simple menu command - maxes out my cpu for at least 1-2 minutes before taking the next action. I finally had to back down to 2.3.1 & all is well again. Note: I had 2.3.1 & 2.4dev(m241) running previously - I even purged those and reinstalled this version before falling back to 2.3.1; same result. System: 2.4Ghz Intel / 1Gb Ram Linux: Ubuntu 7.10 2.6.22-14-generic kernel - Gnome desktop Sun Java 1.6.0_03 I'd recommend some further smoke testing on this rc prior to releasing into the wild.
