Ann,
You can do it with a formula something like =IF(2>1;"True";"False")
Then, if you like, you can copy the cell, do paste special, select
another cell, clear all the check boxes except Text and click OK.
You end up with a cell containing 'True, but without the ' visible.
That's what I tried first, but if you enter it directly, the ' is
visible. I don't know whether part of this is a bug.
Sorting then works, but you seem to need to clear all the check boxes in
the options pane.
Interesting little problem!
