Meanwhile, my program works with FF, IE, and Safari, but not with Konqueror. And since there is no Konqueror for Windows, I can not test and debug it.
Perhaps someone using Konqueror has time enough to visit http://www.lenz-online.de/divers/osm/osm2.htm which is a debugging version featuring an extra area where debugging messages are shown. Please also read the "how it works" section in the code.
