Hi there! I'm happy to join this community, as the project is very exciting to me. I'm a Computer Engineering Italian student and I would apply for a project in your community thanks to Google Summer of Code (oh.. well.. I hope so :)).
As requested in your site (http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/index.php/Google_Summer_of_Code), I'm writing in the dev list to let you know I would like to apply for one of these projects: - Osmarender setup tool - Mapnik setup tool I'm skilled in Java, XML/XSLT and usability, so I think I could join successfully these two projects.
