Correct.  It is optimised to process [key=value] type predicates.  A whole
bbox is processed by passing an implicit [*=*] predicate.  I will look at it
sometime to see if complete bbox requests can be optimised better, but for
the moment the main API is quicker for these things.

The fact that it's running off an NFS file system doesn't help either, but
that issue is being investigated separately.
